Housing On and Around Campus
The University area offers housing ranging from restored Victorian mansions and cottages to modern apartment complexes, University dormitories and apartments, fraternity houses and neighborhood garage apartments.
For students who prefer to live off campus, there are a number of apartment complexes and houses for rent within the walking distance. These are generally advertised in the classified section of our local newspaper or the Houston Chronicle. On the west end of the island, there are beach homes for sale or rent. Many of them are either on the beach or a canal leading to Galveston Bay.

Student Life
There are numerous student organizations at UTMB, a complete list can be found on the UTMB Student Life website.
Many of our students are active in the Biological Chemistry Student Organization (BCSO) as well as the Graduate Student Organization (GSO).
