Welcome to the Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BMB) Graduate Program website. The BMB program is designed to prepare students for careers investigating the molecular nature of biomedical phenomena and translating that knowledge to improve human health. Our curriculum provides training in cutting edge technology, critical thinking, and verbal and written communication skills, preparing graduates to be fully competitive for positions within various career paths. We currently have 29 students pursuing doctoral degrees in our program and >60 graduate faculty members. Research projects in our program are diverse and address a variety of biomedical problems, including aging, cancer, infectious disease, toxicology, trauma, and wound healing. Multi-disciplinary approaches combine research tools from biochemistry, cell biology, molecular biology, systems and structural biology, and our laboratories are equipped with some of the most modern instrumentation in these fields. For those students interested in a focused curriculum in biophysical chemistry, we also offer a Molecular Biophysics Educational Track (MBET).
